even though -- you know, mitt romney -- he reminded me of paul ryan. all he did was tell one lie after another. boom boom, boom, boom, boom. but in a debate, you gotta stand up and say that's not true. here's the truth! and the president just missed several opportunities to do that i believe. not that it was a total disaster for obama. it is just that he let mitt romney get away with too much. kathy is calling from long island. hey, kathy, good morning. what do you say? >> caller: hey, bill. it is interesting that -- you don't think it was a total disaster. as i watched it, minute after minute, i kept waiting for it to turn around back into obama's favor. i kept waiting for his moment to shine. >> bill: so did i. >> caller: there was none. and you know, as i watched i'm thinking, you know, you're talking about the $716 billion talk about ryan's plan, social security. what about the social security? >> bill: kathy just on that point, the president started out on social security by saying now i'm sure governor romney and i both agree on social security.
